Biography

Donna Cadogan was born in 1962 to the sound of Ray Charles
”Hit the Road Jack” in London, UK.

Her family and their friends danced every night to the sound of the new soul music and it was the first music Donna listened to as a child.

After the first years in London Donna and her Mom went back to Denmark and Donna grew up, first in her Moms hometown Aarhus by the seaside and later in a big commune in the rural countryside.
“Growing up in that sort of environment has made a huge impact on me, the feeling of freedom and optimism I experienced in these surroundings will stay with me forever, we learned to share and take care of each other and that dreams could come through".
There were a lot of artist living there, musicians jammin, painters painting, photographers photographing and my StepDad even build us kids a theatre with light, stage, microphones and everything just to inspire us -That was really cool”.

After the first few years in a rather anonymous public school Donna started in a private school with focus on all sorts of creativity, she had some really inspiring teachers, that from early on gave her the confidence to sing and write her own music.
So Donna started singing, writing and performing and all the way through school wrote for, played and sang in a lot of different bands.

At the age of 20 she became a professional singer in Mek Pek Party Band a Reggae/Ska outfit and that soon became very popular, with a hit single for starters, followed by a reputation of being a great live-act ending with intensive touring for years as a result.

After that first experience as a professional artist Donna Cadogan joined Marquis de Sade, a band with a whole new raw sound, the band set a new standard for what you could sing about in pop music, the band ended having enormous success. While touring with Marquis de Sade, she released a solo album named DONNA.

Donna Cadogan has done numerous diverse performances in her career, from touring, to session singing on various albums, performing with the elite on the Danish rock scene and numeral TV/Video performances.

Acting and performing in musicals starting with her performing in HAIR at Betty Nansen Theatre to Theatre Mogador, Paris –and several productions of RENT.
All along Donna Cadogan has been writing and tuning her skills as a performer, dancer and singer, so now releasing L’EAU -a solo album containing her own songs and production -seems like the only natural next step.
